Cumquats are one of my favourite winter fruits. I love their powerful citrus presence, and the way their skins turn a deep, translucent amber colour. These sweet chilli cumquats, made by Jaymie Brown of range Tasmania on his farm overlooking Bruny Island, are an ideal accompaniment to spicy food, particularly Moroccan and Middle Eastern influenced cuisine. I also like them with a big chunk of strong, hard cheese such as Raw Milk C2.
