Our hours of opening are:
October – March: 9am – 5pm
April – September: 9.30 – 5pm
We are about 15 minutes drive from the ferry, on the main road heading to Adventure Bay. Look out for our sign on the left hand side as you enter Great Bay.
Come in and taste our beers and cheese, watch us make cheese and have a chat with the cheese makers and brewer.
Sit under the eucalypts and enjoy a cheese platter and one of our beers. Or coffee and cake. Or stay for a long, lazy lunch with a few of the locals. Make sure you grab a loaf of our organic wood-fired sourdough bread to enjoy with your cheese or a jar from our home-made range of relishes and preserves.
We would love you to come and visit us on Bruny Island and experience what we do and where we live. But there are a couple of things you should know.
Firstly, the ferry can get a bit busy at times. You can look at the ferry timetable HERE.
Also, we are small business on a remote island. Our facilities are a bit limited and were designed and built when Bruny Island was way less of a destination for visitors. In the summer months we can get so busy that we can’t give everyone a guided tasting. So between October – March, we offer a self guided tasting plate which cost $5 but that fee is refunded on your cheese purchase.
Tour groups are more than welcome with prior arrangement. We need at least 48 hours notice to accommodate all commercial tour groups and we would love to discuss our package option with you. Please contact Cheryl on Cheryl@brunyislandcheese.com.au
We have a gorgeous little shop in Hobart. It's open Monday to Friday 10am until 5pm and Saturdays from 8:30am until 3pm. You can find it tucked under the stairs in the Salamanca Arts Centre (opposite Hobart's most beautiful store, The Maker). It showcases all of our cheeses and beers, as well as a few others. There is also a great range of artisan Tasmanian produce - in fact, it's all artisan Tasmanian produce. You can even sit down and enjoy a beer and cheese platter!
We love to get your feedback too, so after you have visited us, please tell us about your experience on our TripAdvisor page.
